Having a massage in isolation is not the optimum way to restore postural balance. Therefore during a treatment session I could incorporate any of the following:

  • sports / remedial massage
  • soft tissue release and other techniques
  • individual muscle testing (kinesiology)
  • postural adjustments
  • strengthening / stretching exercises to do at home

Sports Massage is a special form of massage that works on the soft tissues ( muscles, ligaments and tendons) by improving circulation and flow.  Its main aim is to restore biomechanical balance by reducing muscle tension, swelling and fatigue, improving flexibilty and preventing injuries.

Remedial Massage uses specific deep tissue and mobilisation techniques to effectively treat injuries - both past and present.  It helps to break down scar tissue, remove the build up of toxins and it releases and realigns soft tissues.  These factors all reduce the chance of repeat injuries.  Remedial massage will also encourage and support the body’s own healing and repair systems.
